As a way to spread awareness to the relevant audience of potential investors and eventual enthusiasts, coin teams will, from time-to-time, do airdrops. Coins have been doing this for a while — pretty much since the first Ethereum ICO.
If you check your wallet on Etherscan (which I totally recommend doing — never open your wallet with a private key just to check your balance, it’s riskier than necessary), you’ll know there’s a row up top named Token Tracker. If you see it, then there are also tokens in your account; if you don’t, then you don’t have any tokens or airdrops — yet.
Some of you ETH wallet holders that have had wallets with balances for a while now might’ve noticed this — one day you just see an extra random token in your Token Tracker. No, someone didn’t randomly deposit some obscure token into your wallet address on accident; instead, the coin’s team decided to send a small amount to a population of Ethereum wallets in order to spread the word.
After getting the token, one of the first things you might’ve done is Google what the coin is. Or you might’ve taken it a step further — asked someone else if they knew what the token was. Read more from cryptoclarified.com…

]]>Listeners have easier access to content, while the creators of said content aren’t necessarily getting the bang for their buck. Gareth Emery’s new blockchain platform, Choon Gareth Emery: It’s never really adapted to deal with the internet.
Twenty years ago when Napster first appeared, the music business was one of the first to really be disrupted by this online world. The industry went from making money selling vinyl’s and CDs…to [digital] downloads, and now we are in a phase of streaming. Napster changed everything.
While there’s been good progress made, the problem lies in the structure of the industry itself. “With each move forward, the artists get more and more sidelined, as music becomes more inaccessible and the structure remains antiquated.”
said the artist. Read more from forbes.com…

]]>Many bitcoin holders value it more as an investment than a day-to-day currency. Buying with bitcoin can be as easy as tapping your phone, though there are some cautions.
A look at a single bitcoin transaction, the sale of a 2017 Subaru from an upstate New York car dealer to a buyer from Virginia: Eugene Rubinchuk didn’t get into digital currency for the anonymity or to strike a blow against centralized banking. He was just looking for more business.
Rubinchuk and his father, who goes by “Mike the Russian,” already ham it up in local TV commercials for Michael’s Auto Plaza wearing furry hats. Digital currency is just another potential edge.
“It’s just a way to reach customers we normally couldn’t reach, that normally wouldn’t think of us,” he said. The cars and truck on the lot near Albany are priced in U.S. dollars. Read more from roadandtrack.com…

]]>This correlates with the recent BTC price increase we have seen forming on the charts. The big question is whether or not this is Bitcoin’s next big time to shine.
Different metrics can be used to determine which cryptocurrencies are worth keeping an eye on. Ranking them by market cap is a popular option these days.
The trading volume of individual currencies is also worth exploring. One metric has always stood out: the Bitcoin Dominance Index.
It is an interesting tool, although not everyone sees the added benefit in using it. What this metric does is determine Bitcoin’s market share compared to all other currencies combined. Read more from newsbtc.com…

]]>Among the projects were an “original IP console project, original IP VR project,” both of these presented alongside accolades like co-developing Fortnite. Armature Studio’s link redirects to a site with four different job listings: Gameplay Engineer, Generalist Engineer, Graphics Engineer, and Game Designer.
All of these jobs have their own requirements and specifications, but there’s not as much info to take in from the postings like there would be for other job listings. No mention of first-person shooter or any other genre can be seen through the jobs with the most being that “experience with Unreal Engine 4 a plus.” Armature Studio’s portfolio boasts a wide array of games along with the Fortnite development listed on the company’s resume.
ReCore is another game that most Armature Studio fans will recognize alongside the company’s work on games like Injustice, Borderlands, and the Metal Gear Solid HD collection. Another section of the game’s portfolio lists a page for what’s only being called “upcoming game” at this time, so perhaps this is one of the studio’s projects that’s being teased in the tweet.
In other Armature Studio news, the developers recently made headlines as a result of speculation that surged surrounding the Metal Gear Solid HD collection being ported to the PlayStation 4. Back in mid-February, a listing for the Metal Gear Solid HD collection on the studio’s page previewed the collection’s release for the PlayStation Vita. Read more from comicbook.com…

]]>The affair between the sex industry and cryptocurrency isn’t new. Porn has historically been ahead of the curve tech-wise, and this holds true for Bitcoin adoption.
Back in 2013, UK escort service VIP Passion started accepting Bitcoin payments. Two years later, sex workers started posting Twitter tutorials on how to use Bitcoin to pay for advertisements on Backpage.com when major credit cards pulled their services from the platform due to rampant sex trafficking.
Don’t Fuck Anybody Who Wants to Get Your Consent Uploaded to the Blockchain The technology also offers privacy and security for both sellers and customers. For an industry that values discretion, “privacy coins”—which boast features that hide a user’s identity even more thoroughly than Bitcoin—like Monero, Dash, and Zcash may come in handy for customers who feel shame making certain legal purchases or fear the consequences of making criminal ones, as penalties for hiring sex workers in the US can include fines as high as $25,000 along with prison time.
Then there are the dreaded fees that cam models pay. Webcam performers take home at most 70 percent of their earnings (usually less) after the site takes its cut, and blockchain-based companies are promising to change that by letting models take home 95 percent of their income. ]]>For its part, Tutellus is switching over from Ethereum’s blockchain to NEM’s chain. It’s a remarkable decision, although it remains to be seen if this creates a precedent for other companies.
Over the past few years, we have seen a ton of projects try and build on top of the Ethereum blockchain. Given the technical advantages that this blockchain has to offer, such a decision seems to make a lot of sense.
With its smart contracts, asset creation, and other tools, Ethereum’s chain can bring a lot of functionality to other projects building on top of this ecosystem. However, Ethereum’s blockchain is not necessarily suited for every purpose one can think of, as the Tutellus team’s recent action shows.
Their decision to migrate from Ethereum’s blockchain to NEM is quite intriguing, for many reasons. While the team acknowledges Ethereum is a very powerful blockchain ecosystem, they are also concerned about the expenses associated with it. Read more from themerkle.com…
