Bobbi Reed – General Manager
Infinity Park Event Center boasts unique and vibrant spaces, state-of-the-art technology, and a proven track record of success, but without a dedicated, passionate staff, we’d be hard pressed to make good on our promise to elevate every event. General Manager Bobbi Reed has been at the helm since the very beginning, her first project coordinating the Grand Opening of the Infinity Park stadium in 2007 before being named GM of the Event Center when its doors opened in November 2008. As Reed puts it: “My staff has grown from two contractors to six full-time, talented event professionals and we’ve never looked back. As we approach our 10-year anniversary, we are looking forward to a banner year of mini-celebrations, elevated client events, and the ever-changing landscape in the City of Glendale. Happy New Year from all of us at the Glendale Sports Center!
The post Nonprofit success assisted by event venue capabilities appeared first on Event Centers in Denver.
]]>Events are a great way to publicly thank supporters for their time (last year in the U.S., volunteers gave 8.7 billion hours of service) and gifts ($350 billion given to U.S. nonprofits last year). Events can also be an ideal time to raise funds, whether through an auction or through proceeds from the event itself. Events are also a good way to strengthen existing relationships with and among supporters. Having so many supporters in the same room at the same time underscores the shared mission and reinforces the commitment of the assembled community. Similarly, the demonstration of such community is a powerful way to attract new supporters or encourage existing advocates to redouble their support.
The Infinity Park Event Center is frequently the site of these types of events. The combination of affordable price (including a 10% room rental discount for nonprofits), central and recognizable location, variety of room sizes, and ample parking make it a top choice for many local organizations. The stories of three local nonprofits who recently chose the Event Center show the creative ways nonprofit organizations use events to build support.
The Limb Preservation provides assistance to people who have lost a limb. Their “Laughs to Save Limbs and Lives” fundraiser event features both a live and silent auction, restaurant sponsors who bring appetizer bites, a wine pull game, and a live comedian. This was the third time Limb Preservation has used the Event Center. Jessica Yoss, who helped organize the event, said that the Event Center’s parking and space are able to accommodate more than 400 guests who have mobility needs. She added that the Event Center staff was able to execute a last-minute setup change on the day of the event. Yoss said she expects to be back next year as the event keeps beating expectations. “Despite the fact that there was an actual blizzard on April 28th, we had a very successful event with many compliments from guests,” she said. “We weren’t confident that we’d meet our goal this year since we are all new staff and only had a few months to prepare, but we beat our goal!”
The Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce chose the Event Center to host its annual Business Awards event. The event was the setting in which local businesses were recognized for excellence in a variety of categories, including: start-up business, small business, minority or woman-owned business, green business, small nonprofit, and large nonprofit. Kristin Massoletti, events specialist for the Chamber of Commerce, said the Event Center’s 360-degree screens in the International Ballroom led them to choose the space in the first place. She said their event was “video heavy” and, consequently, the audience viewing experience needed to be top notch. They enjoyed their experience so much they’ve decided to use it again the next year.
Modern A/V capabilities are in demand for events of all kinds. And, with the A/V technology available today, a screen and a projector doesn’t quite cut it. Veronica Contreras de Raya is the coordinator for marketing and communications at Colorado UpLift, an organization that works with thousands of Denver-area students to teach life skills and character qualities that will prepare them for life after graduation. Every year, Colorado UpLift hosts a fundraiser, the main source of fundraising all year. This year included a dinner and an art auction. They chose the Event Center in order to get a “fresh feel,” according to Contreras de Raya. They moved what is an annual event up 6 months, and, with the short turnaround time between the two fundraisers, they wanted to be sure the production they created would please guests who attended both.
The event as envisioned included a lot of visual and audio elements, many of which needed to occur simultaneously, including live video, high-quality still graphics, slide shows, a live band, and sponsor logo projections. The planning process included a walk-through of the event the day before to ensure everything would work as planned. Contreras de Raya said other venues they considered offered two square projection screens, which came off as “old-fashioned.” The Event Center’s 360-degree video allowed them to produce the event they wanted without making sacrifices. In the end, they beat their $100,000 fundraising goal. “We received lots of positive feedback,” she said. “The venue was a big part of the success.”

]]>At Infinity Park Event Center we pride ourselves on successful events for both host and attendees alike. Every event serves a unique purpose and has special and distinct event video, lighting and audio needs. Through the event production capabilities at Infinity Park, these needs are met with carefully crafted design where the desired goal and atmosphere are achieved, and experienced, and ultimately leave a lasting impression.
A Kaiser Permanente Town Hall was one of the latest successful events at Infinity Park Event Center. Highlighting the message “Getting IT Done,” the custom built show production offered a grand canvas from which to communicate, inspire and entertain both event attendees as well as those that tuned in to a live feed over a web stream.
This overview time-lapse video showcases how color, graphics, lighting and video can transform a space into a powerful tool by which an event can reach its goals and achieve its purpose. The details make it special and when those come together it creates moments worth remembering.

]]>The morning air is crisp, the nights are cool, and the leaves are putting on their annual show. Fall is here, and that means full calendars and lots of fun. It also means that the holidays are right around the corner – a wonderful time of year that just got a lot merrier with a special offer from the Infinity Park Event Center.
Busy schedules and holiday commitments aside, an evening in the International Ballroom at Infinity Park is an experience that can’t be missed. Right now, if you book an event in the IPEC Ballroom on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening in December, you’ll receive a $1,500 discount. Happy holidays indeed.
Throwing this year’s holiday bash on a weeknight has lots of advantages. Guests will enjoy the 8,600 square foot ballroom, sophisticated lighting and audio systems, 360-degree surround screens, and a custom-tailored event experience. Pack the house on a Tuesday night for hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, or on a Wednesday evening for a tacky sweater party – whatever you can imagine, Infinity Park will make your event unforgettable. And with a $1,500 discount, you’ll have plenty left over for stocking stuffers.

]]>The post The new wall of roses appeared first on Event Centers in Denver.
]]>Kim Kardashian and Kanye West exchanged vows in front of a wall of roses. One of the highlights of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art’s new building is a mesmerizing wall of greens. A floral wall at any event makes a splash, but it comes at a high cost. Creative agency Curate estimates that “to cover an 8’x8′ wall with fresh roses could cost upwards of $6,100 just for roses alone.” Unless the event is outside, neutral-toned wallpapers are often the only option. A bold alternative to having actual flowers or neutral colors is to drape the room in a digital floral display.
When people leave an event at Infinity Park Event Center, there’s a common refrain: “those video screens were amazing!” The video screens that circle the room are a defining characteristic of the international ballroom, technology that transforms each event into a truly unique environment, one with texture and personality. Past events at the Event Center, particularly weddings, have used that capability to project a floral theme, an embellishment that creates a soft, intimate space for the reception to unfold in. Guests leave with memories of a space that stood out, that transcended their expectations of what a wedding reception can be. Just because you can’t order a wall of roses doesn’t mean you can’t dream large.

I’ve been working at the City of Glendale since 2008. When I started, one of my biggest goals was to expose the youth of Colorado to the sport that I love. Back then, I had to all but beg the local schools to let us come to their P.E. classes and instruct students about rugby. It was really hard to teach rugby in Denver back then! When I spoke with school faculty and administrators I made sure the first thing I said was, “It’s FREE!” Followed by, “WE DO EVERYTHING!” But the times are changing.

Summer is over and as we move from 7s rugby to 15s rugby, I am reflecting back on the 7s season with much pleasure.
I can't begin to express my pride in the group of 7s players who played over the summer and the way they ended off the season with a brilliant showing at the RugbyTown 7s Tournament - losing in the final to an Invitational Denver 7s team. I have to add that we were the only club team to make it to the finals and through the playoffs. I want to thank each and everyone of the players who committed to our summer 7s program and improved with each tournament - especially the foreign players who joined us from England.

Late summer is generally the transition time in the rugby world from seven-a-side rugby to the start of fifteens season. In addition, we have recently concluded the return of rugby to the Olympic Games, thus ushering a new dynamic to the development of rugby domestically. Not unlike the change from leather rugby balls to synthetic rugby balls, the game is undergoing significant changes.

]]>“Infinity Park Event Center takes feedback seriously. A perfect example was a recent conversation with an event planner for a Mitzvah celebration. As a result, we now offer up to 5 hours of set-up time at no additional charge. We realized that nearly every Mitzvah has needed the extra time on the day of their event and we were able to change our package to offer the additional hours. Planners often give us feedback and we carefully consider each suggestion to determine how it might impact the event operations for the client, the planner, various vendor/partners and our staff as well. Love the collaboration!”

Summer in Colorado is really heating up, and so are the Raptors Summer 7s.
The team traveled to San Diego in June, making a strong showing at the Old Mission Beach Athletic Club’s 7s Tournament. The team played really well, making it all the way to the final, but we lost to a competitive Belmont Shore squad. This was our first tournament with all of the new players and recruits, and it was great to finally see everyone playing together out on the pitch.

]]>There are few things more important to the future of our sport than the hundreds of kids who turn out over the summers to learn about rugby, develop a passion for the game, and have fun. These young ruggers from ages 6 to 15 are learning the basics of catch and pass to valuable skills in leadership, communication, teamwork, persistence, mental toughness, and more. The Glendale Raptors Rugby Academy values these skills and the life lessons learned on the field above any scoreboard.

With summer officially in full swing, the turnout for Summer Sevens training has been great, and there are more players coming out than I expected. When I arrived in Glendale in June 2011 and started the 7s program, we had an average of 8 players at our training sessions. The Thursday night before our first tournament in Texas that year, we had 12 players at training. I had no choice but to put those 12 on the roster. We went to Texas and won the tournament because of pure heart and attitude, not because of skill and talent. Part of the foundation of the Raptors’ 7s program is the attitude that we showed in those early days.

Hi Mark!
I hope you are well and settled back in with the family and normal life!
I just wanted to take a moment to send you a big thank you for your work and support with the Lao teams this month from the LRF, but also from me personally! I didn’t get a chance to write in your thank you letter (and we will have to get someone to translate the messages so you can hear from the players your full impact!), but I have been meaning to send you a follow up and just thank you again for taking the time to come to Laos and help us.
